About Nanchang Normal University（NCNU）

Nanchang Normal University（NCNU）is a public comprehensive university under the administration of Jiangxi Province, China. Being one of the earliest eight undergraduate universities in Jiangxi province, its origin can be traced back in 1952.

The University is situated in Nanchang, the provincial city of Jiangxi province, as well as a famous historic and culture city on the middle and lower stretches of Yangtze River, owning Changbei and Qingshanhu campuses.

NCNU has 12 schools and 30 undergraduate majors, covering education, art, management, science, literature, engineering, law and other disciplines.

At present, the university has more than 15,000 full-time students and over 800 faculty members.

The university explored in depth in primary education, featuring teacher training and teacher education. Since its establishment, it has cultivated more than 150,000 students, making outstanding contribution to the economy and social development of Jiangxi province. The university has a national language promotion base. Relying on this platform, actively guide teachers and students to carry forward the excellent Chinese culture, and has made outstanding achievements.

NCNU attaches great importance to international cooperation and exchange, it has built cooperation relation with the universities from UK, America, Indonesia and New Zealand, etc. In 2019, NCNU jointly established Tourism Confucius Institute (TCI) with Udayana University in Indonesia and Nanchang University, China. TCI at Udayana University has always embraced “Chinese+Tourism” specialism in a bid to train local tourism talents who know Chinese and Chinese culture well.

 Programs: Chinese Language and Literature Program（Bachelor Degree）

This major aims to cultivate international, applied and compound talents in Chinese language and literature who are well-versed in Chinese national conditions and Chinese culture, possess a high level of Chinese language proficiency and cultural literacy, are capable of conducting cross-cultural communication and academic research in Chinese, and have the ability to engage in work related to Chinese language and culture, meeting the demands of regional economic and social development. Students are expected to be proficient in using Chinese for teaching, translation and other related work.

The undergraduate program lasts for four years. Students who complete the required courses and credits as stipulated in the training program and pass the examinations will be granted graduation. Those who meet the conditions for degree conferral will be awarded a Bachelor of Arts degree.

Main courses: Spoken Chinese, Chinese Listening, Chinese Reading, Chinese Character Writing, HSK Tutoring, Modern Chinese Grammar, Practical Chinese Vocabulary, Modern and Contemporary Chinese Literature, Ancient Chinese, Ancient Chinese Literature, Introduction to Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language, Chinese Writing.

(3) 18 -30 years old, in good health;
(4) Have good moral character, be of good conduct, have no criminal record, and abide by Chinese laws and regulations as well as the school's rules and regulations;
(5) HSK3≥ 180 . Applicants who do not meet the language requirement must pass an interview organized by the university.

(6) Economic conditions: Be able to pay for tuition fees, accommodation fees, living expenses, etc. during the study in China.

Accommodation fee: ￥1,000 yuan/ year/person

Scholarship

Jiangxi Provincial Government Scholarship

Funded by the Jiangxi Provincial Government, this scholarship will provide partial tuition remission for all outstanding self-supporting students in Jiangxi Province. The university will conduct a comprehensive evaluation on all outstanding international students in Jiangxi Province according to the notice issued by the local education authorities, in accordance with the principles of notarization, openness and fairness, and issue the scholarship after approval.

 Nanchang Normal University scholarship

Funded by Nanchang Normal University, part of the tuition fee will be waived for outstanding international students who apply for the self-funded study program of Nanchang Normal University. The university will conduct a comprehensive evaluation on students in accordance with the principles of fairness, openness and fairness, and will issue the payment after approval.

Application Procedure

Step1

Step2

Attend the entrance exams or interviews organized by the Nanchang Normal University

Step 3

Applicants who are admitted to Nanchang Normal University will receive the Visa application for study in China (JW 202 ) and Nanchang Normal University Admission Notice.

Step 4

Applicants who are admitted can apply for the student visa (X1) from the Chinese Embassy or consulate in your country with the original copies of the Visa Application for Study in China(JW 202) and the Admission Notice.

Step 5

Students should come to Nanchang Normal University with the Admission Notice to enroll, register and pay the tuition fee punctually according to the date stated on the Admission Notice.
